Media Watch February 6th, 2006I really don’t like to follow eating trends and I wouldn’t suggest people change their diets based on the latest and greatest trends they see on TV. However each year we see these new weight loss trends, like the Atkins diet last year. Diet trends are as common and fashionable as Abercrombie and Fitch to a preppy highschool student. Always take into consideration the value of moderation whenever you eat. No matter how often these eating trends suggested by the “experts†change or how complex the food pyramid becomes, it all boils down to moderation.
Here’s what the experts say we should be doing for 2006.
1. Eating whole foods. Whole foods are the foods that are found in nature.
2. Take pleasure in eating. Take the time to eat slowly and enjoy your dining experience rather than gorge yourself with a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts.
3. Control your leptin hormone by snacking less. Leptin is the hormone that tells your brain when to overeat.
