Beach JoggingOne of the biggest problems I’ve had in trying to lose fat is overcoming the boredom and pain of doing cardio exercises. Everyone that I have spoken to recommends doing cardio exercises with a combination of weight lifting to help lose the belly fat. The only problem is, I’ve dreaded cardio ever since I can remember but I absolutely love weight lifting. Running on a treadmill for 20 minutes feels like running for an hour, it is tiring and without music, your mind is constantly thinking “are we there yet? are we there yet?”
Here are some tips I came up with for sticking to your cardio…

  • Put as much planning into your cardio workout as you do into your weight lifting. Think of it as doing a 20 minute set of treadmill then a 20 minute set of exercise bike etc, and actually plan out each session.
  • Keep it interesting by varying the mode of cardio i.e. exercise bike, treadmill, rowing machine, or get out of the gym and ride a bike or jog.
  • Set a goal at the start of each cardio session, as well as long term goals.
  • Get a personal trainer or join a cardio exercise class.
