Exercises for Traveling
Exercises May 11th, 2006I just got back from a three day business trip in Boston. I was trying to do some exercises in my room but didn’t know what the heck I should be doing. Since I had no weights or any equipment with me, I ended up doing some push-ups and sit-ups. I was able to get myself to sweat a little but that’s about it. Plus I think all the eating and drinking I did was worse for my beer belly in the end.
I did some searching online for some ideas and came across this page that has a lot of simple and easy exercises you can do while you’re on the road. The best part is that most of these exercises don’t require any equipment. Here’s a list of the exercises they cover, the web page even has detailed directions and images.
- Staggered Pushups – change the height of your pushups by using phone books
- Good Mornings – this is a weird back exercise, I would not recommend
- Pike Shoulder Pushup – um too advanced for me
- Rear Delt Fly – this hurts my left shoulder, no thanks
- Tricep Dips – do dips with the aid of a chair, I love these
- Triceps One-Armed Pushup – this exercise is actually pretty challenging if you do it right
- Squats on Tiptoes – good workout
- Lunge with Arms Overhead – I rarely do lunges
- Single Leg Lift and Squat – another hard one
- Calf Raise – simple exercise that lets you feel the burn
- Oblique Abs – this is something I need to work on more
