Flank Steak with Creamy Mushroom Sauce
Recipes July 25th, 2006
Last weekend we had some guests over at my parents house and I was called upon to contribute a dish. Since I love grilling in the summer and love to eat steak, I grilled a flank steak served with creamy mushroom sauce on top. The steak was well-liked by the guests so I thought I'd share it here with everyone. Besides, I haven't posted a recipe in a while.
Ingredients:
Kosher salt and ground black pepper
2 garlic cloves minced
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 pound flank steak
1 can Campbell's condensed Cream of Mushroom
1/2 cup milk
1 cup button mushrooms sliced
Directions:
Season both sides of the flank steak with garlic, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Heat up the grill and add the steak when grill is hot. Grill each side until seared, about 5 minutes per side. Transfer the steak to a plate. On the stove, heat up the cream of mushroom and sliced button mushrooms added with milk. When the button mushrooms are soft and the sauce is creamy and smooth in texture, turn the stove to low heat. On a cutting board, slice up the flank steak against the grain into thin slices. Pour on the cream of mushroom and serve while hot.
I love having this dish with rice. The cream of mushroom sauce is well balanced perfect to go on top of steamed white rice.

I love wearing my “I eat meat” shirt when mixing it up with the new age vegans. Grilling makes me feel good about who I am. The taste of a nicely cooked hunk of flesh can’t be beat. I think they have other stuff at CafePress.com/UncleFrog besides just shirts and mugs for those who love meat. Good luck!
