Trying to eat healthy
Dieting September 12th, 2006Well I am back from my fishing trip and am feeling a little guilty about my diet during past 3 days. On top of drinking 6+ beers a day, I think I had too much fried fish filets, bacon, eggs and steak. However I didn’t feel guilty about it until the stop at the McDonald’s drive-thru on the way back where I picked up a Big Mac value meal! It’s been almost a year since I’ve had a Big Mac and I don’t know why I got one, maybe because it was convenient and the small town had nothing else.
To reduce my daily calorie intake I’m going to start at where I have the most control over my meals, and that’s lunch. I’ve bought a few cups of microwavable soup from Campbell’s and Healthy Choice. These 14 ounce cups of soup will fill you up so you’re not feeling the hunger pains but not quite enough to make you get food coma. The Chicken with Rice soup from Healthy Choice that I had today was only 90 calories; other soups are all between 90 to 170 calories. I hope to keep my lunch calories below 300 and keep myself from feeling hungry. This is going to be tough because I have a huge appetite. But then again I must do this because when I go to Vegas in November I have a feeling that the seafood buffets are going to make me lose control.
