Getting back in a regular workout routine
Goals May 21st, 2007
While I’m struggling to get back in a regular workout routine, I thought I would try and come up with some ways that would help. One of the things I do to get myself to become more active and exercising on a regular basis is to start writing more on the blog.
Here are a list of things one can do to get in the groove again:
1. Start from the beginning, again. Determine your goal, a way to reach it, and commit yourself.
2. Focus on one goal only and stick to it. Since it’s summer, I’ll focus on losing some fat around the mid section.
3. Commit yourself to achieving this goal for 30 days. If you can perform a routine function for 30 days, it becomes much easier to continue.
4. Do your exercises at the same time everyday. This will reinforce the routine aspect and trains your body to know when it needs to work out.
5. Start small, lighter weights, fewer reps, shorter runs, etc. Starting slowly is also easier for the body to adapt and increases your chances of sticking the program.

I think you are right Matt writing down your goals is essential to your success. Why don’t you write down your goals out on your blog and then chart your progress that is real commitment to your goals.
If you really want to go at it full on post a picture as you progress if that pictures you then I don’t think I would stress out . The reality is I am guessing you don’t quite look like that yet?
Have a great day and stick with those goals

Its kinda lil tough to get back into the routine. The same theory lies here on how badly you want something and you have to keep your goals ahead. Break it into small parts. once you get going you wont stop.

I couldn’t agree with you more, it’s tough getting back in the routine. I set a goal to lose 32 pounds by June 1st 2008 and to work out regularly. Check out my blog at http://www.buff-t.blogspot.com
I am going about it slowly…. As of today, I’ve lost 10.5 pounds!!!!!!!
