The Future You

Everyone who visits this website will be in a different situation. Some people will be looking at losing a couple of pounds and toning up their body. Others may have grown a Beer Belly in college and are looking to lose 10-20 pounds by starting a workout program to get back in shape. Some people might be looking to lose 50, 75 or even 100 pounds. But no matter what situation you are in, you need to keep the following things in mind:

1. How do I picture myself right now?
2. Where do I see myself in the future?
3. How can I realistically transform myself into the person I want to become?

In addition to these three things, it is important to understand setting realistic/achievable goals – take baby steps. For example, if someone currently finds out that they consume 3000 calories/day, and they attempt to lose weight by drastically cutting their calorie intake from 3000 to 1500, that person could potentially be setting themselves up for failure. Or if a person rarely exercises and suddenly tries to exercise 30 min/day everyday, they are also setting themselves up for failure.

We recommend setting realistic/achievable goals when first starting out. And once you are able to achieve and sustain those goals, then raise your goals and continue challenging yourself every time you reach a goal and are able to sustain it.

You will eventually reach the point where you’ve surpassed your original goals and you will develop new goals, goals that were unachievable at the beginning of your journey. Keep in mind that you will continue to improve on your personal goals as long as you remain focused, determined, and patient. Remember that no matter what journey lies in front of you, start with baby steps.

”The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” -Confucious
