The mice always get the latest although sometimes not greatest breakthrough for their health. Some scientists have discovered a way to engineer mice that constantly have a high metabolism. Apparently there’s an enzyme that controls the storage of fat in our bodies. In these engineered mice, the ACC enzyme was reduced which resulted in the mice not gaining any weight even on high-fat diets. I wonder if most Asian people have a low amount of the ACC enzyme because I usually don’t see very many obese Asians.

Just a reminder, Men’s Health Week is coming up. What does this mean for us men? Well for starters, for the men who have been slacking off on their workouts for the past couple of weeks (like me), it’s a good time to recommit ourselves to fitness. We’re all busy and fitting everything into the schedule is a tough task. But I challenge all of you men *and* women to raise the priority on your workouts and commit to exercise at least 3 times a week.

According to experts, jogging backwards burns more calories than jogging forwards, a fifth more in fact. The reversal can supposedly strengthen the heart, lungs, muscles and joints.
Timothy Badyna, a backwards marathon runner claims that “your balance increases. Your hearing increases. Your peripheral vision increases.”
So running backwards is good for your health. But what happens when you run backwards full speed into that light pole?

Just when you thought working out with a personal trainer via Podfitness was the latest and greatest in fitness, Nike teams up with Apple to give you Nike Plus. The CEOs of Nike and Apple (Mark Parker and Steve Jobs) announced yesterday the first ever collaboration between the two companies.

My fiance and I plan to have at least 2 kids and we’ve been playing around with the idea of having twins. I think having twins would just make life that much more interesting. Twins equals double the fun, double the energy, and double the soiled diapers. We’ve heard that having twins is hereditary so that’s good news for us because my fiance’s father is a twin and she also has twin cousins. I on the other hand don’t have any twins in my family but I have two coworkers who have twins.
