I recently made a discovery in food preparation that has made eating leftovers easy and fun. I discovered the wonderful pita pocket bread!

When I used to have leftovers, it was a pain for me to eat any of it because it was usually in small quantities and didn’t taste so fresh. But now that I’ve got pita pocket breads, all I do is put my leftovers in the pocket and heat it up in the microwave. This basically turns your leftovers into a sandwich and can be incredibly tasteful. It also allows you to get a little creative by mixing your pita creation with other foods.

Last weekend we had some guests over at my parents house and I was called upon to contribute a dish. Since I love grilling in the summer and love to eat steak, I grilled a flank steak served with creamy mushroom sauce on top. The steak was well-liked by the guests so I thought I'd share it here with everyone. Besides, I haven't posted a recipe in a while.
Ingredients:
Kosher salt and ground black pepper
2 garlic cloves minced
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 pound flank steak
1 can Campbell's condensed Cream of Mushroom
1/2 cup milk
1 cup button mushrooms sliced

I’m a big fan of shrimp and just recently this summer I’ve started to grill them rather than doing the usual stir-fry. Here’s one of my favorite recipes that’ll add some zing to your shrimp.
Ingredients:
2 large shallots, peeled and chopped
1 2-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, smashed
3/4 cup light soy sauce
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
2 pounds large tiger shrimp, shells and head on

The other night I made one of my favorite dishes, the Butter Sage Pasta. This meal is so unhealthy that I can only eat it once a year, and even then I can feel my arteries clogging up. I don’t know why I ate that dish especially since I’m trying to lose my beer belly and my doctor says I have high cholesterol and high triglycerides. Anyways, I’ve decided to share the recipe because I think everyone deserves to have one of those “guilty” meals once in a blue moon. Speaking of Blue Moon… I haven’t had that beer in a while.
